Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 May 2026
By using the Kvitt app you agree to these terms. They're written in plain language and we've tried to avoid legalese.
These terms constitute an agreement between you as a user and Softi AB (org. no. 559067-1235), Nybyvägen 1, 746 37 Bålsta, Sweden, which owns and operates the Kvitt trademark. "We" and "us" below refers to Softi AB.
1. What Kvitt is
Kvitt is a mobile app that helps groups keep track of who paid what and who owes whom. The app can open the Swish app with the recipient, amount and message pre-filled to make settling up quick. Kvitt itself handles no money and is not a payment service. We are not affiliated with Getswish AB, Swedbank or any bank.
2. Your account
To use Kvitt you create an account with your name and a Swedish mobile number. You are responsible for:
- That the information you provide is your own and accurate.
- Protecting access to your phone — that's where your account credentials live (we have no passwords).
- Not using the app in groups where you are not welcome.
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete my account). More details on what that means in our Privacy Policy.
3. You are responsible for data accuracy
You are responsible for the expenses, amounts, participants and payments you enter in the app. Kvitt does not verify the numbers against any external source. If someone in your group thinks an expense is wrong, it's up to you to resolve it among yourselves — the app just gives you the tool.
Specifically about receipt scanning: when you photograph a receipt the app tries to read the total amount, date and merchant. The technology is not perfect — always verify the values before saving. We do not guarantee the scan will be correct.
4. About the Swish handoff
When you tap "Pay with Swish" Kvitt opens the Swish app with your pre-filled values. Always verify the recipient, amount and message in the Swish app before approving the payment. The money is sent directly between your bank and the recipient's — Kvitt is never an intermediary and never sees card details or transaction data.
If a Swish payment goes wrong (wrong amount, wrong recipient, not completed), that's a matter between you, Swish and your bank — not between you and Kvitt.
5. Kvitt Plus
Kvitt offers a paid subscription ("Kvitt Plus") with additional features (extended statistics, cross-device receipt sync, multi-currency support, better receipt scanning).
- The subscription is managed by Apple App Store and Google Play respectively. Price and renewal terms are shown in the app before you buy.
- Renewal happens automatically unless you cancel the subscription in time via your App Store / Google Play profile.
- Refunds are handled by Apple/Google under their policy — not by Kvitt directly.
- Deleting your Kvitt account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription; you must do that separately with Apple/Google.
6. What you must not do
You may not:
- Use the app for illegal activity or fraud.
- Try to circumvent app security, reverse-engineer it, or access other users' data without permission.
- Use the app to harass, threaten or spam other users.
- Try to overload our infrastructure (DDoS, scripts that spam API calls, etc.).
- Use the Kvitt name, logo or trademark without permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
7. Service provided "as is"
Kvitt is provided "as-is" and "as-available". We make no guarantees that the app:
- Works without interruption or errors.
- Is free of bugs.
- Meets your specific needs.
- Preserves your data permanently in case of hardware failure or force majeure.
We of course aim for the opposite, but cannot legally guarantee any of the above.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Kvitt is not liable for:
- Loss of data or expense history.
- Incorrect amounts in expenses or balances arising from what users entered.
- Swish payments that go wrong or are not completed.
- Indirect damages, lost profits, or consequential damages from using the app.
Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Kvitt Plus in the past 12 months (for free users: zero).
Mandatory consumer rights under Swedish consumer law are not affected by this — if anything in these terms conflicts with your inalienable rights as a consumer, the law applies, not the term.
9. Intellectual property
The Kvitt app, code, design and trademark are owned by us. You may use the app as an end user but not copy, modify or distribute it. The content you create yourself (expenses, group names, receipt images, etc.) belongs to you.
10. Termination
You can stop using Kvitt at any time by deleting your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms — we'll try to notify you in advance if practical.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. Continuing to use the app after a change counts as accepting the new version.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes should first be resolved through conversation with us (hej@kvitt.org). Otherwise by Swedish general courts.
